Challenge

The challenge I currently face in education revolves around integrating challenge-based learning (CBL) into my arts-based research class amidst the new implementation of the MATATAG Curriculum in the Philippines and the lack of guidelines for incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) into classroom instruction. This convergence of challenges presents a multifaceted obstacle to traditional teaching methods, necessitating adaptation to meet the evolving landscape of education. The introduction of the MATATAG Curriculum, slated for implementation in the upcoming school year (2024-2025), significantly changes the educational framework. However, the need for clear implementation guidelines from the government complicates the process, hindering educators' ability to align their teaching practices effectively with the curriculum's objectives. Furthermore, integrating AI into classroom instruction poses another layer of complexity. Educators face uncertainty in leveraging AI technologies to enhance teaching and learning experiences without established guidelines and frameworks. This challenge is particularly pertinent as AI becomes increasingly prevalent in various aspects of society, emphasizing the importance of preparing students for the AI-driven future. Addressing these challenges is paramount as they impact the quality and relevance of education provided to students. Successfully navigating these obstacles requires educators to recognize the complexities and adapt their teaching practices accordingly. Educators can better strategize and implement practical approaches to ensure continued educational advancement in the Philippines by identifying and understanding the challenges.
